Hauptfunktion: Daten für Erdfernerkundung, insbesondere Kartierung der Erdoberfläche und Beobachtung von Naturkatastrophen, Umweltschutzschutz

  • Radarinstrument im L-Band (PalSAR), ermöglicht Erfassung der terrestischen Biomasse aus dem All, Bestimmung der globealen Kohlenstoffvorräte
  • panchromatisches Instrument für Stereoaufnahmen (PRISM)
