Metop Meteorological Operational satellite

Der Satellit beobachtet das Wettergeschehen. Zudem vermisst er hochgenau die Temperatur- und Feuchtigkeitsverteilung, ebenso Spurengase in der Atmosphäre wie Ozon, Co, Co2, Stickoxide, Schwefeldioxid und Methan

Metop verwendet das IASI Senor-Modul. It will provide meterologists with data of unprecedented accuracy and resolution on atmospheric temeperature and humidity.
