#format wiki #language en <> == BARBI == BARBI is an acronym for BARotropic Baroclinic Interaction. It is a model with simplified circulation dynamics based on the vertically averaged equations of motion for a baroclinic ocean with topography (Olbers and Eden, 2002). The [[attachment:barbi.tar|source code]] of a numerical implementation is provided. A better (finite element) numerical implementation was developed by Sergey Danilov, AWI, Bremerhaven. {{attachment:barbi.jpg}} Streamfunction in Sv in steady state in a simulation of the BARBI model with N=0 1/s (a), a simulation with a flat bottom (b), and the standard model simulation with topographic variations and stratification (c). Also shown are isobaths (lines). == Source Code == [[attachment:barbi.tar|BARBI source code]] == References == [[http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/abs/10.1175/1520-0485(2003)033<2719:ASGCMF>2.0.CO;2|Olbers D., C.
